Snack Box Bento Lunch

This is pure assembly, no knife skills required beyond opening packages, and kids consistently eat more when food is separated into its own compartments. The divided container does all the work.

Snack Box Bento Lunch
Make ahead: Load the bento the night before, cover, and refrigerate. Takes under 5 minutes.

How to make it

  1. Cube or fold cheese into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Fold or roll deli meat and place in one section of the bento.

  3. Fill remaining sections with crackers, fruit, and baby carrots.

  4. Add a small dipping cup of hummus or ranch if desired.

  5. Seal and refrigerate until morning.

Costco sells Colby Jack cubes and mini Babybel wheels that drop straight into the box. Pair with Trader Joe's Multigrain Crackers or Simple Mills almond flour crackers, Applegate turkey or salami, and a handful of grapes or pre-washed blueberries. Load the bento the night before and you're done.

Swap ideas: swap carrots for snap peas or cucumber rounds; replace deli meat with a hard-boiled egg; add a small dark chocolate square or a few nuts for older kids.
