Overview
My Gym is a structured gymnastics and movement program for kids from 6 weeks through age 10, using real equipment: beams, bars, vaults, ropes, and tumbling mats. Classes are themed, instructor-led, and built around a weekly curriculum — this is not open play. The distinction matters because kids who get bored at unstructured gyms tend to lock in at My Gym, and parents who want developmental intentionality behind the movement get it here. The parent-participation model for babies and toddlers also makes it genuinely useful for 0-to-2 development, not just entertainment.

How to Do It
My Gym operates as a franchise, so the Bay Area has several locations that run independently. Active locations include Walnut Creek (2256 Oak Grove Road), San Ramon, and San Carlos, among others. The former San Francisco location on Minnesota Street and the Santa Clara location are both closed. Check mygym.com/locations with your zip code before planning, as locations open and close with some frequency.
Most locations offer a free trial class for new families before committing to membership. This is the right move — show up, watch your kid in the structure, and decide whether it clicks. Classes run in 45-to-60 minute sessions with a warm-up, skills circuit, free play on equipment, and a closing song. Babies and toddlers stay on the floor with a parent; the Preschool Gymnastics class (3.5 to 5) is the first drop-off program. The "Practice and Play" open gym sessions are included with membership and useful for letting kids burn energy on non-class days.

Tips & Tricks
The free trial class is worth doing even if you are skeptical — the difference between My Gym and a standard toddler gym class is obvious in person. Instructors work the floor actively; it is not childcare-style supervision. If your kid is between ages 21 months and 3.5 years, the Gymsters and Terrific Tots programs are the sweet spot, where the combination of movement, songs, and equipment exploration tends to produce the strongest engagement.

Membership runs on a 4-week billing cycle, not monthly. The introductory rate at most locations is $99 for the first three cycles, then moves to the standard rate around $129 per 4-week cycle for one class per week. Unlimited classes cost more. Go in knowing that and decide upfront whether you want a long-term commitment or just a few-month trial. Most locations will do month-to-month if you ask.
The Siblings and Friends class (ages 3 months to 5 years) is underused and underrated for families with a baby and a toddler — both kids attend the same session with one parent, and the curriculum is designed to work for both ages simultaneously. If you have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, this is the most efficient option on the schedule.
Because each location sets its own schedule, the class times for popular slots — especially Saturday mornings — fill fast at the beginning of each enrollment period. Contact your local location at enrollment time and get on the waitlist immediately if your preferred slot is full. Most locations also run birthday parties on weekend mornings, which means class schedules get compressed around them.
Planning
Pricing varies by location. Introductory membership typically starts around $99 for the first 3 billing cycles (4-week cycles), then $129 per cycle for one class per week. A free trial class is available at most locations for first-time visitors — book it directly on the location's page at mygym.com. Drop-in rates, where available, are typically around $20 to $25 per session and require advance arrangement with the location. No reservation system is centralized — call or book through each location's individual website.
Class programs by age: Tiny Tykes (3 months to first steps), Waddlers (12 to 20 months), Gymsters (21 months to 2.5 years), Terrific Tots (2.5 to 3.5 years), Siblings and Friends (3 months to 5 years, mixed ages), Preschool Gymnastics (3.5 to 5, first drop-off class), and Gymnastics/Ninja programs for ages 5 and up. The activity is best for ages 6 months to 5 years — the infant-through-preschool window is where the format shines most. Bring socks for the child (required on equipment) and plan to be physically on the floor if your child is under 3.5.
